Put your car keys beside your bed at night

Tell your spouse, your children, your neighbors, your parents, your Dr's office, the check-out girl at the market, everyone you run across. Put your car keys beside your bed at night.

If you hear a noise outside your home or someone trying to get in your house, just press the panic button for your car. The alarm will be set off, and the horn will continue to sound until either you turn it off or the car battery dies. This tip came from a neighborhood watch coordinator. Next time you come home for the night and you start to put your keys away, think of this: It's a security alarm system that you probably already have and requires no installation.

Test it.

It will go off from most everywhere inside your house and will keep honking until your battery runs down or until you reset it with the button on the key fob chain. It works if you park in your driveway or garage. If your car alarm goes off when someone is trying to break into your house, odds are the burglar/rapist won't stick around. After a few seconds all the neighbors will be looking out their windows to see who is out there and sure enough the criminal won't want that. And remember to carry your keys while walking to your car in a parking lot. The alarm can work the same way there. This is something that should really be shared with everyone. Maybe it could save a life or a sexual abuse crime.

P.S. I am sending this to everyone I know because I think it is fantastic. Would also be useful for any emergency, such as a heart attack, where you can't reach a phone. My Mom has suggested to my Dad that he carry his car keys with him in case he falls outside and she doesn't hear him.. He can activate the car alarm and then she'll know there's a problem.
Please pass this on even IF you've read it before. It's a reminder.

GPS

nuSatguide 4.3 Premium Navi Car GPS vi

How does SatGuide work?

SatGuide - Navigation System in India uses GPS (Global Positioning System) with smart sensors to achieve the accuracy needed for turn-by-turn directions.
GPS is a network of 24 U.S. military satellites that emit radio signals, which have digitally encoded information. Integrated GPS receivers receive these radio signals from the satellites. The software then processes these signals to arrive at the accurate position. The device should receive signals from a minimum of 3 satellites to give an accurate positioning. Nevertheless, at on any given time the receiver is capable of receiving signals from 12 satellites at a time.
In addition, the navigation software extracts other useful information from the GPS signals for example: your current speed, your current height above mean sea level, what direction you are headed in and the like. In short, the navigation system captures all information that ensures that you reach your destination.
GPS works on the concept of triangulation. The GPS satellites transmit radio signals and its region of influence covers the entire globe. The GPS receiver in SatGuide calculates your position dynamically and plots your position on a map. And an accurate location of your vehicle is then calculated.
Now you let go of your worries. With SatGuide you will always be in control. And best of all, this comes for free. There are no recurring charges that you will have to incur for using the satellite.
Three of the 24 GPS satellites orbiting the earth report the current position to your navigation system. At the same time, state-of-the art sensors record every movement, registering even the slightest change of direction. Most roads in the city are stored in the navigation device, a Pocket PC. This means the computer always knows your exact position, and so do you.
Before leaving for your destination, all you have to do is enter your destination address in the control unit. The computer suggests the best route based on the name of the street you are traveling to. And it displays a map in the screen of your navigation device. All you need to do is follow the instructions it gives you. The In-vehicle or Car Navigation System promises to be a valuable aid for travelers, sales people, delivery personnel, real estate agents, drivers of emergency vehicles.... anyone and everyone who needs to reach a variety of destinations as quickly and efficiently as possible.

London: Encouraged by growth prospects and easy liquidity conditions, private investors are expected to pump in a staggering USD 1.11 trillion into emerging markets, including India, this year, says a report.
According to the report by Institute of International Finance (IIF), private capital flows to emerging economies would rise to USD 1.118 trillion in 2013 from an estimated USD 1.10 trillion in 2012.
"Private capital flows to emerging economies have revived strongly, supported by a generally more risk-friendly attitude of investors since mid-2012. The macroeconomic backdrop remains unusually favourable for private capital flows to emerging economies," the report said.
"On the one hand, very easy monetary policy in mature economies and the prospect of poor returns is "pushing" money out of those markets. On the other hand, higher growth in emerging economies, combined with higher interest rates is "pulling" funds in," it added.
Besides, the report said that the flows to rise further in 2014 to USD 1.15 trillion.
"We estimate that overall inflows in 2012 were slightly lower than in 2011, despite a strong pick-up in momentum in 2012 H2, partly driven by the unfolding dramas in the Euro Area (where stresses peaked in late July)," the report said.
The report said capital flows to Latin America and emerging Asian economies are now 30 percent above the level in 2007, before the global financial turmoil.

Stroke has a new indicator ! - IMPORTANT

Stroke has a new indicator
They say if you e.mail this to ten people, you stand a chance of saving one life. Will you send this along?
Blood Clots/Stroke - They Now Have a Fourth Indicator, the Tongue
</div>

I will continue to forward this every time it comes around!

STROKE:
Remember the 1st Three Letters.....S. T. R.

STROKE IDENTIFICATION:

It only takes a minute to read this.

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE

Thank God for the sense to remember the '3' steps, STR. Read and

Learn!

Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S *
Ask the individual to SMILE.

T *
Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A

SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently)

(I.e. It is sunny out today.)

R
*Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call emergency numberimmediatelyand describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

New Sign of a Stroke -------- Stick out Your Tongue

NOTE: Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the person to 'stick' out his tongue. If the tongue is

'crooked', if it goes to one side or the otherthat is also an indication of a stroke.

A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this e-mail sends it to 10 people; you can bet that at least one life will be saved.

I have done my part. Will you?

Sankranti symbolizes father-son ties

This day symbolizes father-son ties

BANGALORE: The Sun is the source of all life on Earth. Whether it is physical, mental or spiritual. So Sun is considered as the God of light. He is the closest image to mankind and has a divinity. People worship the Sun God on this day.

Sankranti (Sankramana) means movement. This festival is considered to be Festival of Movement of the Sun, even though the Sun enters 12 zodiac signs in each month and that's called Masa Sankranti. But in this 12 Masa Sankranti, two of them are considered as auspicious days.

The Puranas say that on this day, the Sun visits the house of his son Shani, who is the swamy of Makara Rashi. The father and son do not get along well, but in spite of these differences, they meet on this day. The father, in fact, comes to his son's house himself for a month. This day symbolizes the importance of a special relationship between the father and son.

This day represents the movement of the Sun to two different ayanas that is Uttarayana and Dakshinayana. The Sun's movement from Karkataka to Dhanu is called Dakshinayana & Makara to Mithuna is known as Uttarayana. The entry of Sun to these zodiac signs is considered as auspicious and brings good results.

Makara Sankranti is one of the most auspicious day for Hindus and is celebrated in almost all parts of the country in myraid cultural forms, with great devotion, fervour & gaiety. Lakhs of people take a dip in places like Ganga Sagar and Prayag and pray to the Sun God

Sri:
Srimate Ramanujaya nama:

"Thondin aaradhanai"
( A drop of gratitude)

ANOINTING THY FEET, Oh! Damodara…

Date : 30/12/2012
Person Honoured : Sri Panduranga Bhagavathar ( Kainkaryam : many)
Person doing the honour : Sri E.B.Sriram swamy

Not everyone is blessed to have the feet of Lord Damodara on their shoulders, touch the flowers that emit fragrance by the Lord’s sambandam, participate in the thadeeyaradhai kainkaryam during the avathara utsavam of Bhagawath Ramanujacharya at Sriperumbudur and relish the food partaken by hundreds of Bhakthas and to top it all , have Sriperumbudur Aasuri Thirumaligai as Acharyan.

Sri Panduranga Bhagavathar has all the above baghyam and in addition, is most humble. He is doing Sripaadam thangum kainkaryam at the beautiful Sri Damodara Perumal Koil, Villivakkam. Without fail, he participates in the avathara utsava thadeerayadhana kainkaryam taking place at SriPerumbudur and helps fill the stomach of thousands of bhakthas who swarm the thiruvadi of Ethiraja maamuni.

Honouring him during the avathara month of Thiruppavai was a humbling experience and all of us felt it did bring joy to Thiruppavai Jeeyar.
His honour is here :

COOKING THE WAY TO FITNESS….

Date : 30/12/2012
Person Honoured : Sri Krishnaswamy ( Kainkaryam : Thirumadappalli)
Person doing the honour : Sri E.B.Sriram swamy

As you tread through the cow overflowing streets of Triplicane, you can frequently have a glimpse of a person peddling a cycle at maximum acceleration provided you rise early and go late to sleep. He would park the cycle, swiftly climb up the steps that lead to Ahobila Muth and begin his work. The clock would strike 5a.m.After completing the work, he would walk down the stairs with the same zest that possessed him at 5am. The clock would strike 10 pm. Don’t remotely guess him to be a youngster or at the worst a middle-aged man. No, he is a child. A 85 year old child. Sri Krishnamachariar swamy hails from Tirunelveli. Before 40 years ,he came to Chennai for livelihood. Lord Nrisimhan accepted his service at Sri Ahobila Muth, Triplicane and from then on till this very day, he does thirumadappalli kainkaryam there. At home, every additional guest would see our mothers/wives raise their non-existent eyebrows at us. But with every additional guest at the Muth, his heart swells with love and care. Even today, he does the thaligai and parimarum kainkaryam everyday.

We asked him the secret of His fitness at this age and he calmly told “Getting up early in the day, walking or using the cycle alone, drawing water from the well, good sathvik food , everlasting love for others and above all,  aashervadam of the Lord and Mangalasasanam of the Bhakthas who eat the prasadams have kept my health intact.” Well, there is our lesson.

Seek his aashervadam here :
